Getting Ahead in a Just Gettin’ by World (GA) is a workshop assisting people experiencing conditions of poverty to investigate their own lives, their communities, and the economic classes to build resources and make plans for building personal and family resources.

Meetings are held in Champaign, Delaware, Logan, Madison, Shelby, and Union Counties 2 or 3 times a week based on participants for a total of 17 sessions, twice a year in each county. We value your time and want you to feel that creating a future story is worth it. We may provide childcare, transportation, and a $25 gift card for every session you attend.

Required Client Documentation

• Applicant’s Photo ID
• All household members’ proof of income (last 30 days or 4 weeks).
• If client has no income, client must complete self-declaration form
• Participants must be living at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Line.
• If you do not have these documents readily available, you may take clear pictures of the documents and email them to your class facilitator.

Sponsor a Graduate

We receive grant funding to host the program. Despite this, we are always looking to additional openings and opportunities for more individuals.
• A donation of $50 will fund one participant for one week.
• A donation of $450 will fund one participant through graduation and help them truly “get ahead”.
